Italians Frederico Leo and Francesco Castellacci secured the European FIA GT3 Championship with an AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia by finishing fourth in the second race of the weekend. In the first race they finished 9th. The 2nd race was being won by the Belgian-entered WRT Audi R8 LMS from the combination Enzo Ide/Christopher Haase. Ide has been the relevation of the season. The young Belgian started in racing only 1 year ago and won 3 races this season and also finished 3rd in the championship. More than anyone else. Brice Bosi and Dominik Baumann finished second with an HEICO-entered Mercedes SLS AMG Mercedes GT3 and they won the FIA Team Championship. The first race of the weekend was being taken by the Prospeed Porsche GT3 RSR from Paul van Splunteren/Maxime Soulet. The Ferrari 458 Italia from M.Lyons/Salaquarda finished 2nd ahead of the Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo LP600 from the N.Mayr-Meinhof/Albert von Thurm und Taxis. The European GT4 Cup was being won in the same weekend by the EKRIS BMW from V.d. Ende/Huisman. 18.000 spectators turned up for the first FIA GT-event between the Dunes.
