For the first time in the history of the VLN Endurance Championship around the Nürburgring Nordschleife Ferrari took the laurels in an exciting 6 Hrs. Race. A lot of team considered this event as a test prior to the Nürburgring 24 Hrs. late in June this year. The works teams from BMW, Gazoo Lexus, Volkswagen and of course the Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5 were the main focus for this event. The opening hour was exciting with the Porsches, BMW’s and even the Lexus fighting in close order for a top position. However due to a yellow situation the Clerk of the Course took a lap off the first ten. It meant the VW Rabbit was leading for the first time. Later during the race the order restored itself and in the final hour the Farnbacher Hankook Ferrari F458 and Manthey Porsche were fighting for the win. Brazilian Jamie Melo took a sensational win after 6 Hrs of Racing around the Nordschleife by beating Manthey Porsche driver Marc Lieb with 0.8. secs.! The works Schnitzer BMW M3 GT finished 3rd.
