Ever wondered what has become of Robert Doornbos, Tristan Gommendy and Nelson Philippe, all being front runners in the now defunct Champcarworldseries. Well they are racing again with a Panoz-chassis in Europe since a few weeks. Not many Americans might have heard about the Superleaque Formula, created by Spaniard Alex Andreu and Briton Robin Webb. It is a total different concept from any other form of motor sport.
Superleaque is all about combining Soccer(European Football) and motor racing together. The cars are being painted in the colorschemes from Soccer Clubs like AC Roma, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund e.g. A somewhat strange combination of combining those sports but the inventors of Superleaque Formula are well convinced that their idea might work in the future. 2008 is pilot season with 6 events consisiting two 44 minute races each.

The Superleaque Formula Panoz MCT-chassis has been developed by Elan Technologies in Atlanta, Georgio and certainly bears resemblance to the now disappeared Panoz DP01 Champcar-chassis. The aerodynamics of the cars has been designed in such a way that they will follow each other closely. The car has been powered by a 4,2L 750 Bhp Menard MCT engine which was being developed in England. Offcially the car has been baptized Panoz DP09B. In fact the car is a mix of F1/Champcar/.A1 etc. It is a big heavy car with similar characteristics like a F1. The sound of the engien
