The crisis appears to be over. The VLN Endurance series around the Nürburgring Nordschleife received no less than 187 entries for the forthcoming season. An absolute record where Cups from Porsche, Toyota, Opel and BMW have been integrated. But in preparation for the Nürburgring 24 HRS works supported GT3 cars from Audi, BMW, Bentley,Mercedes, Ferrari, Nissan, Renault will also compete in the series. The works cars will all compete in the opening races. But some will return regularly during the season. For the moment the future of the GT3 cars does not hang in the balance. But with the risk that they will outgrown the place in the future Mercedes as well as BMW are already developing a GT4 version for the future. Both will appear later in the season. Renault even has a works supported project within the series.
