Connor de Phillippi wins in ADAC GT Masters for Audi
American Connor de Phillippi is probably the first American who took the laurels in the ADAC GT Masters series together with German Christopher Mies. For the Audi R8 LMS it meant the first win in the series with the Land Motorsport Team. Due to a startcrash with Markus WInkelhock, the current leaders in the championship, Gounon/Keilwitz lost valuable points for the Callaway Corvette Team and the difference with the German/American duo is only 14 points now. The Montaplast by Land Team has the title as the main goal now. For both races the Herberth and KÜS Team Bernhard 75 Porsches qualified on the front row. In the first row the win went to David Jahn(D)/Kevin Estre(F) with the Herberth Porsche followed by Renauer/Ragginger in the Herberth Porsche 911 GT3 R. Third place surprisingly went to Nicolai Sylvest(DK)/Nick Rogivue(CH) with the second Zakspeed Mercedes AMG GT3. Their first podium. The second race saw a great battle for the lead between the Porsches and the Audi’s. Finally the overall went to Mies/De Phillippi with the American driving to victory with a supurb drive. Third place went to the Porsche from Jahn/Estre. In the TCR Germany Touring Car series the Opel Astra made it’s debut in the hands of Jordi Oriola Villa and Pierre Yves Corthals. They finished second and 3rd resp. In the second race both retired. Briton Josh Files won the first race under pressure from the Opel drivers with his TCR Astra and in the second he had to fight for position with Steve Kirsch to take 3rd behind Michael Halder and Finnish winner Antti Burri both with Seat. In F4 wins went to Mick Schumacher, Joey Mawson and Thomas Preinig. Australian Mawson is still leading the championship.
