Good start for Paul di Resta and Edoardo Mortara

After starting from pole and leading R2 Scottisch driver Paul di Resta took the lead in the DTM Table standings with his Mercedes AMG C63 DTM. Swiss Nico Müller took pole for the opening race but finished 3rd with his Audi RS5 DTM. Canadian Robert Wickens finished 2nd and 6th with his Mercedes AMG C63 DTM which leaves him second in the table standings. In the first race only 16 out 24 cars finished the race. Mike Rockenfeller, who was celebrating his 100th DTM race was quickly sidelined just as Timo Glock from BMW. The BMW driver finished 2nd in R2 but had to be disqualified after a minor infringement at the back of his car. A fault of his team during the night repairs. The WRX Rallyecross event saw DTM driver Mattias Ekström from Sweden winning the event ahead of his teammate Heikkinen. Ken Block finished 3rd in his Ford.
