BMW Z4 beats the Fog Photo and report: Willem J. Staat

The first round of the VLN Endurance-series around the Nürburgring Nordschleife has been won by the Schuberth BMW Z4 with the combination Jörg Müller/Dirk Müller/Dirk Adorf. They were leading the race when it had to be red flagged due to the foggy and damp weather conditions around the GP part of the circuit. At 14.43 hrs. local time the Clerk of the Course had no other option than to stop the race. At that point the Schubert “works” BMW Z4 was 2.01.734 mins. Ahead of the Timbulli Porsche GT3 from Norbert Siedler, Marc Hennerici and Dennis Busch. The brand new Timbulli Team took 3rd with Christian Menzel/Christian Kohler.

Pole went to Peter Dumbreck’s Falken Porsche GT3, and in the opening pages the Porsches from Kainz, Holzer, Lietz and Dumas fought for position. Though all three Porsches ran into technical troubles. The revised Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5 Competizione finished 15th in the hands of Nicola Larini/Fabrizio Giovanardi/Manuel Lauck.
