JAMES WEAVER (No. 16 Dyson Racing Norcold/Thetford/Goodyear Riley & Scott Ford) - Our car seems to know its way around the track here. This is the fourth year it's been on the pole here. It almost doesn't need a driver - just set it up and send it out! It's going to be an interesting race. I think the Judd car is going to have a huge fuel advantage. We'll just go flat out. With the fuel consumption issue, you can't afford to mess around, which is great. This is a wonderful track to drive. Every year we come here it's tremendously exciting.
RYAN HAMPTON (No. 22 Archangel Motorsports American Instrument/Oberto Beef Jerky Nissan Lola) - This is the first time both of us have ever been at this track, so we spent the entire morning session just learning our way around. For qualifying, they just told me to go out and run consistently. The car's working real well. It's a tough track but it's very fun to drive. You don't get much chance to rest here, this track will wear you out pretty quickly.
TERRY BORCHELER (No. 5 Saleen-Allen Speedlab Saleen SR) - We're in our own race this week, and that's going to help us. The culprit here is usually getting damage in traffic. If nothing goes wrong mechanically and I do a good job, we should be alright. Being careful in traffic will probably be the best strategy.
MIMMO SCHIATTARELLA (No. 12 Risi Comptizione Ferrari 333SP) - We gained nine-tenths from our morning practice, so we found a little bit in the setup. We changed the (electronic) map on the engine, which responded much better. We are now in second position. The Weaver car is fantastic and it's quicker than us, but we'll see in the race.
