At the 2001 Rolex 24 At Daytona, Pilgrim took second-place GTS honors as part of the star-studded #3 Corvette team that included Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in their only race together as teammates.
Bell Motorsports has scored three overall wins in the Rolex Series this season, more than any other team thus far. The victories by Borcheller and Barber at the Barber 250 at The Park, Mid-Ohio Road Racing Classic and Paul Revere 250 have propelled the team to within seven points of the leaders in the Daytona Prototypes point standings.
"(Andy and I) won a championship together in '98 in the Speedvision Cup, which is now the Grand-Am Cup," said Borcheller. "I think he will bring a tremendous asset to the team. He's very good at developing a car, and we've obviously been developing the car really well throughout the season, but we don't want to stop. We want to keep going after the championship, and we think his input and feedback could be really help."
"I am delighted that Andy is able to join us at Mont-Tremblant in our Chevrolet Doran JE-4 Daytona Prototype. Andy, Terry and Bell Motorsports have championship-winning history together, and I am excited to have that combination together again for our effort," noted Barber.
"These guys have a championship to work for, and I am there to help them get that," added Pilgrim.
