David Brabham(#1-P Panoz LMP-1)(provisional Prototype pole winner): (about traffic and number of cars): "Whatever's out there, it's the same for everyone. It's great we have a good healthy field as far as prototypes are concerned. During practice, we haven't had any problems with back markers." (about his qualifying lap): "I went out and did a time, then the black flag came out for the Audi. We waited and sat for awhile, then I went through Turn 1 and saw the BMW damaged, so I slowed down and they said to keep going. So I did another lap and that was the (best) one." (about comparing his time to testing): "They went quicker in testing. I wasn't here. But they say the track's quite different. You can see the sand roll across the track." (about qualifying): "We had a few little engine problems. I went into qualifying a little bit unknown because I hadn't run on new tires all week." (about the winter): "The team's made some small gains over the winter. We knew it was going to be tough with Audi and BMW coming in, and Lola and Reynard.."
Rinaldo Capello(#77-P Audi R8)(2nd in Prototype qualifying): "The session went ok. The last two laps were backed up with traffic.but we're very happy with the lap."
Johnny O'Connell (#2-P Panoz LMP-1) (3rd in Prototype qualifying): "We had more understeer than we needed. To qualify, I'd rather be loose because you can stay on the gas. I think we need to work on the front. Right now it's a really good race car."
