With a surprise pass with less than five minutes to go in the three-hour Americans Le Mans Series' Le Grand-Prix de Trois Rivieres, Sascha Maassen squeezed his #23 Alex Job Racing Xybernaut McKenna Porsche 911 GT3 RS past teammate Timo Bernhard to win his second straight ALMS victory - and his fourth of the season.

Lucas Luhr, who put the winning car on the pole yesterday, started the race and drove just over one-and-a-half hours, earning the two extra points awards for the pole and most time in the car. Sascha took over the car, which led for the entire first part of the event, and looked to be on its way to victory when Timo Bernhard in the #22 Alex Job Porsche passed him with just 25 minutes to go.

But Bernhard, who had taken over the #22 Alex Job Porsche early in the race to replace a heat-exhausted Jorg Bergmeister, got wide and into the gravel three laps from the end, and Maassen slipped by him for the win.

"For the last hour, both Timo and I were running very hard - almost too hard for teammates who had a four lap lead over third place. But when Timo made a mistake, I had a chance to win the race, and I took it," said Maassen, who still leads the class by a single point.

The #66 Kevin Buckler/Michael Schrom The Racer's Group Porsche was third after being hit by one of the Panoz prototypes, sending the Porsche into a spin. Fortunately, the car was not damaged, and the Panoz was penalized for the incident, but the team lost value time they were not able to make up.
