For Dyson Racing the race was one of strategy as they instructed finishing driver, Leitzinger to save the way too precious fuel on board the #16 Riley and Scott Ford. "I was shifting in lower and lower RPMs and it was still not enough," said Leitzinger. "I started coasting halfway up the straights sometimes to conserve fuel so I went on reserve. We had one gallon of reserve and I went on that a lap and a half from the end of the race. They just strained the fuel tank and we had a quart of fuel left, so it was very close. It was nice, the car was fantastic and the team played the strategy perfectly."

For Doran Lista, one of their major problems was the damage caused to the car when it collided early in the race with the GT class points leading #81 Porsche. "In these short races, these little accidents can happen and there is so much difference in speed between the GT car and our car and they cannot see us arriving," explained Baldi. "And, this Porsche (#81) didn't see me in the corner and that was a problem."

In third place, despite turning the fastest race lap, was the #37 Banana Joe's Intersport Racing Lola Judd of Jon Field and Oliver Gavin.

The last time the Miracle Motorsports Serta Mattress Ford R&S came to the Glen, it suffered a horrendous wreck coming up through the esses. This time it rewarded its drivers, Brent Sherman and John Macaluso, with a fourth place finish.
