Behind them in fourth place, Wayne Nonnamaker had handed over the controls of the #41 Comptech Sport Integra to Mike Fitzgerald, who had gotten almost no rest from starting the #42 Integra.
For the next 90 minutes of the race, the #69, #00, and #41 Integras ran almost the same lap times. It wasn't until Pete Halsmer got unavoidably caught up in a Mustang's spin that the running order changed. Kevin Adams moved up to second in the #00 HART Civic while the #41 Planet Earth Motorsports Integra moved into third.
Coming in fourth was the #43 Drink FLA OJ / Don Velcio CPA Integra GS-R from the USFilter Planet Earth Motorsports stables as well. Don Velcio and Roy "Gator" Mitchell handled the driving chores in the Integra.
Lucas Motorsports brought their Acura Integra GS-R home to fifth place in C2K with Pittsburgh residents Michael Mazziotti and Elliot Coyle handling the driving in the #111 Perf Friction/Matrix Integra.
"It was an exciting race for the USFilter Planet Earth Motorsports team," said winning driver Will Nonnamaker. "We got a lap on the field by the yellow being timed just right for us. After that, I just took it easy and tried to stay out of trouble. "Iron Man" Mike [Fitzgerald] did a great job for us today. He started this car, and got in the #41 car and finished it in third. Whenever you have an asset like Mike on your team you have to use him, and we got our full use out of Mike today."
