Watkins Glen, NY -Team i-MOTO drivers Pierre Kleinubing and Tom Dyer battled to a strong 2nd place finish in the Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International Raceway in their #31 i-MOTO Mazda Speed 3.
The result gave the i-MOTO team a great boost in the championship points battle. With the second place finish, Pierre Kleinubing moves into 1st place in the driver standings for ST with a 25 point lead over 2nd, while co-driver Tom Dyer jumped up to 4th place in the drivers' standings just 37 points behind Pierre and 9 points behind the 3rd place factory KIA drivers Nic Jonsson and Andy Lally.
Tom Dyer, who qualified 3rd, drove a perfect stint, taking the lead on lap one and held it for the first 15 laps until he pitted and handed the car over to co-driver Pierre Kleinubing. Pierre also drove outstanding keep the #31 i-MOTO Mazda at or near the front throughout his stint only to be passed on the long straight by Honda Civic driven by Michael Valiante. Thinking about the season points championship and deciding against attempting any risky pass attempts, Pierre stayed glued to the back of the Civic to come home in 2nd.
