Long Beach, CA (April 16, 2012) - After a disappointing weekend in St Pete, the #6 K-PAX Racing Volvo S60 team returned to Denver, CO to fix the electronics issues and get the cars ready for the 2012 Pirelli World Challenge GT Championship event on the streets of Long Beach. Due the long hours and hard work by the K-PAX team, and possibly some spiritual help by an excited fan, the Volvo reliability returned and earned Randy another podium! The Volvo was strong right off the hauler, with fast runs in practice and even faster laps in qualifying which gave him the pole! Randy got another stellar K-PAX Volvo all-wheel drive standing start and beat former teammate Andy Pilgrim's Cadillac into turn one. Randy was able to hold the Cadillac off until lap nine, when Andy made a surprise move on Randy and passed him in turn one. Randy stayed behind the Cadillac for the rest of the caution-free circuits to finish a much deserved second place.

"The ghost in the machine is gone! The Volvos were perfectly reliable. On Thursday, we participated in a car show for the "Tecate Thunder on Pine" fan event. Our car was on display, music was thumping and we were hanging out with fans and residents. An interesting gentleman came up, fixed his gaze on the car and started dancing up a storm. We were joking that he was a voodoo witch doctor chasing the ghosts away. Our own personal exorcist. Well it worked! He danced away all the evil spirits."

"All joking aside, the K-PAX team put in a whole lot of hours to get the Volvos ready for the race and the car ran and handled superbly. Will Moody gave us the perfect set up and we won the pole by a lot. We had the Volvo AWD advantage from the start but I was being conservative with my Brakes, especially in turn one which is a huge braking zone. Andy recognized that and made a beautiful, surgical pass in turn one and took the lead. It was totally a surprise attack. It feels so good to be back up on the podium and have the Volvo reliability back. I am very thankful to the team for not giving up and giving me such a top car. It was a pleasure to have our Volvo North America executives, Chief Financial Officer Tim Fissinger, Director of Marketing Jay Hamill and Vice President of Public Affairs Geno Effler, out here in Long Beach. We really appreciate their support. I would also like to thank my personal sponsors, WeatherTech, saferacer.com and TPC Racing."
