August 21, 2011. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series driver Isabelle Tremblay from St. Hippolyte, Quebec returned to action at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for round nine of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this weekend. In her home province Tremblay once again drew large crowds of enthusiastic supporters as she continues her charge for the 2011 Rookie of the Year title.
Damp conditions would hamper practice and with limited laps Tremblay would only manage a thirty first starting position. "It was not our best result but the car was feeling very good and we were looking forward to gaining positions in the race" said Tremblay
When the 100km feature event began in the sunshine Tremblay worked hard to gain positions right from the start and would be successful. "The car was running very well and I was able to move up in the field" said Tremblay.
Tremblay was battling with defending series champion DJ Kennington when coming out of corner 4 her car became difficult to control and she contacted the wall and was forced to retire from the event. Following the race a broken brake rotor was found to be the problem. "It's too bad" said Tremblay. "I was having a good battle with DJ and learning a lot before the problem" she added.
Despite the setback Tremblay remains focused on her goal. "We have three races left on the schedule, all oval tracks and we're going to work really hard on the mission of winning rookie of the year" said Tremblay. "I'm so grateful and very motivated by all the wonderful support the team received in my hometown" she added.
The next event for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series takes place Saturday September 10th at Barrie Speedway.
Isabelle Tremblay is grateful for the impressive support of her many partners this season which include: Group Beton Brunet, ADF Diesel, Furniture World Salotti, Insulation Ippersiel, Canadian Tire St. Jerome, DB Imaging, La Pizzeria Etc. and Leaf Racewear.
