In 1998, Power Racing took second in the Cup Team Championship with their Acura Integra Type R. Power Racing placed third in the 1999 Cup Touring Team Championship. In the 2000 season, Power Racing finished fourth in the Team Championship, and helped Acura take second in the Manufacturer Championship. Now this year, Power Racing has won the first two races of the season in the Grand Am Cup. We got a chance to sit down with Power Racing Team owner Andy Linder for a quick discussion about the past, present, and future.
TheRaceSite.com -
Has there been any thing that you have changed since last year that has brought on this recent run of success, or would you say that you are operating much as you did last year, and now things are falling into place for Power Racing?
Andy Linder -
At the midway point of last season we had to relocate the home of the team into my manufacturing facility here on Long Island. Mike Keravich, our crew chief and his son, Mike Keravich III, co-driver of the #77 car, were able to put in the hours they knew were required to bring the cars to the level of readiness that a serious effort to win demanded. On more than one occasion we were close to a victory last year but never prevailed. To capture that elusive win motivated all of us on the Power Racing Team during the off-season to be prepared on every level to turn our confidence to victory.
