Millville, N.J. (May 3, 2009) - A cloudy, rainy day turned into an exciting and victorious day for Randy and his teammates as they swept not one, but two races at New Jersey Motorsport Park's Thunderbolt Raceway Saturday. Randy began the day in his #1 K-PAX/3R Racing Volvo S60 for round three of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT Championship. After starting in the second position, Randy had to serve a stop-and-go penalty on the second lap for moving before the start. This put him at the rear of the field...but not for long. He quickly sped through the cars and, after a mid-race caution due to rain, was able to zoom from fifth into second behind teammate Andy Pilgrim. Andy finished ahead of Randy by 0.433-second, giving K-PAX/3R Racing and Volvo the top two podium spots.

"Our Volvos are really starting to come to us now. The track conditions suited our all-wheel drive Volvos and we were quickest all weekend. I qualified second but twitched and rolled the car a bit. In a way it was good because it make the race more interesting. I was very pleased to come back to second after the mistake. I got tremendous help from the rain and the yellow flag. It bunched the field and I was able to catch up. The rain gave us a serious performance advantage with our all-wheel drive and good suspension setup. This double podium finish is a fabulous accomplishment for our team after two years of hard work. I want to thank the team for the sacrifices and dedication and the long hours invested in building our cars."

After a short celebration, Randy brought his podium fever over to his #74 Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si team for the third round of the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge ST series. Co-driver Christian Miller qualified the Honda and started in third position in the Garden State 250. Randy got into the car midway through the race and made his way to the front along with his other two Compass360 teammates With four minutes to go, the Compass360 Hondas ran three-wide down the front straight and Randy took the lead and held it to the checker! Teammates Matt Pritiko and Travis Walker in the #76 finished second and.team owner Karl Thomson and Eric Curran in the #75 Honda finished third. This is Randy and Christian's second straight victory and gives them the ST point lead by six points (89-83) over Kristian Skavnes and Andrew Aquilante.
