Conley, who are recovering from injuries suffered earlier in the month at Pikes Peak.
The latest model, the 2008 STI, is the third generation of the legendary Subaru WRX STI model
line, and features a new 5-door hatchback design making it strikingly different visually compared
to the outgoing 2007 model. Some key differences from the 2007 model include a longer
wheelbase for improved high-speed stability, a wider track for increased maneuverability, and
the addition of a double wishbone rear suspension for even better road-holding capabilities. Add
to this better front-to-rear weight distribution plus an even lower center of gravity and the all-new
2008 Subaru WRX STI Open Class rally car has already won rallies in both the U.S. and
Canada since its mid-year debut.
The first six races of the 2007 Rally America National Championship served as qualifying events
for the popular X Games action-sport competition. The X Games Rally Car Racing Super
Special will take place at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. on Sunday, Aug. 3. The X
Games Rally Car Racing Super Special will be aired live on ABC on Sunday at 3 p.m. Eastern.
