Toole, Utah (May 18, 2008) - After a so-so qualifying session, Randy and his
#1 K-PAX/3R Racing Porsche 911 GT3 team pulled off a great fourth place finish in the SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT race at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. After doing well in the practice sessions, the team made some minor changes to the car that did not work, causing Randy to qualify in an uncharacteristic eleventh place in a 35-car grid. After the session, the team went back to work to improve the car. Randy was able to pick up several positions in the beginning laps of the race and wound up finishing in fourth place.

"I'm thrilled. Very happy. It was an up and down week. We were good in practice but qualifying was horrendous. We made some small aerodynamic changes which had a big effect on the car. We wanted to make it more stable but wound up making it too stable. Engineer Will Moody made several adjustments and got it somewhere in between for the race and it handled great. I had some anxiety about being back in traffic. Then my teammate Michael Galati jumped the start which distracted me and I didn't want to make the same mistake. Our goal for the race was to catch up to Davis and Pilgrim and we did."

"I would like to thank the K-PAX team for getting the car back on track. I could put it where I wanted to. I know the car is right when I have a good time driving it. With the current state of the rules, the Porsches have the least power, the smallest engines and the least acceleration. Miller has a long straight which makes it hard to make up the difference. This was a satisfying finish for us at this track. We did drop to second in the points behind Brandon Davis but we are very close. Our preparation level and the reliability and development of the Porsche will benefit us and keep us in the hunt for the championship."

"I would also like to thank my personal sponsors Team Janica Racing, Prairie Hills Motorsport Club, Chasecam, and for their continued support."

The GT race will air on SPEED Wednesday, May 28 at 1:00 PM ET. Round four of the SPEED GT Championship will take place June 6-8 at Watkins Glen International. Randy's next race will be next week at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut on Monday, May 26 at 9:45 AM ET.
