| Mosport Weekend Preview: NayKid Racing |
Mosport International Raceway is the fastest course that the SPEED World Challenge GT will visit this season and that is just fine with NayKid Racing. When Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Lake Tapps, Wash.) pull their Dodge Viper Competition Coupes onto Canada's granddaddy of race tracks it will be the first time all year that their white, blue and orange machines will have a track layout in which they can make a full strike. The street circuits and 20-plus turn tracks they have visited to this point will pale in outright speed and driver daring that the 2.5 mile, 10- turn, Bowmanville, Ontario track will draw from the pair. Making Mosport even more exciting for the Lux, the first woman to ever win an American Le Mans Series sanctioned championship, and White, a winner in the SPEED World Challenge, is that it again joins NayKid Racing with the Canadian arm of Dodge Dodge and NayKid will team to enter the No. 2 Dodge/Mintex Brakes/Red Line Oil Dodge Viper Competition Coupe for Lux and White's No. 3 Corsa Performance/Forgeline Dodge Viper Comp Coupe. It is the fourth race, overall, for NayKid Racing this season.
Again highlighting NayKid's visit to Canada will be the latest recipients in the Dodge Viper Pit Pass Challenge. The Dodge Viper Pit Pass Challenge provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a lucky entrant to become part of the NayKid Racing crew for the weekend. Mosport will be the second time that Dodge has brought two fans to the track where they join the NayKid crew and learn what it takes to be a part of professional motorsports. The first Dodge Viper Pit Pass Challenge winners visited NayKid Racing at Toronto where they got the full array of personal attention including free round-trip transportation to the race, accommodations, team race credentials, a membership in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), official NayKid Racing team- only apparel, time with both Lux and White and $1,000 Canadian spending money. That long list of prizes awaits the Mosport winners as well. The contest, found at www.viperpitcrew.ca, began in the spring and ran until just recently when the two winners for Mosport were selected.
Mosport is a special place to both Lux and White. The track's long sweeping turns and overall speed draws the most out of the Dodge Viper Comp. Coupes, race- bred machines based on their front-engine, V10- powered street counterparts. Being successful at Mosport demands skill, bravado and precision driving. A failure in any one of these components and the day could end early and spectacularly. Lux and White flourish on the challenge and the speed of the fast track that snakes over hills, down valleys and through the beautiful, wooded scenery of Ontario. There is no better environment for the NayKid Racing-Dodge Vipers to strike for their first SPEED World Challenge victory of the season. The Grand Prix of Mosport can be seen on SPEED Channel, Saturday, September 1 at 2 pm (ET).
