" Aston Martin won what racing historians consider to be the first-ever professional road race' in the United States on September 7, 1958 at Lime Rock Park in the USAC Sports Car Championship. The car was driven by George Constantine. The sleek Aston Martin DBR9s will see Lime Rock Park for the first time in 2006 after joining the Series in 2005, and winning in their inaugural run at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
" Corvette Racing's Oliver Beretta and Oliver Gavin have made Lime Rock Park their own personal playground. In each of the past two years, the Gavin/Beretta duo made Lime Rock their first win of the season. In 2006, the pairing has won three straight Series races to open the season and have won a Series record eight straight times dating back to late July (Portland) in 2005. Corvette Racing seeks third consecutive Lime Rock class win, 1-2 class finish, class pole, and class Fast Lap.
" Roger Penske's first racing victory came at Lime Rock Park in 1959, driving a Porsche in an SCCA Regional event. Forty-seven years later, Penske Racing goes for another Lime Rock Park win with two Porsche RS Spyders. In the last Series round at Mid-Ohio, Penske Racing's Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas posted the first overall Series win in an LMP2 car with teammates Sascha Maassen and Lucas Luhr finishing second.
" Lime Rock Park was the site of Dyson Racing's first professional racing victory. A Porsche 962 fielded by the Poughkeepsie, NY-based team debuted there and won convincingly. Since then, there have been fifty-two (52) race victories, and sixteen (16) driver and team championships for Dyson Racing. For 2006, the team is entering its first-year Lola B06/10-AERs.
