| Road America C2K Weekend Preview |
|
|
After campaigning a veteran Oldsmobile for many years now, WTF Engineering will debut a brand-new Chevrolet Cavalier this weekend with Frank del Vecchio and Ed Magner at the wheel.
Competing against the new Chevy will be a host of Honda, Acura, Mazda, and Hyundai teams.
Honda will be represented by the very successful Honda of America Racing Team which has put rookie driver Bryan Johnson in the lead of the driver's championship. Last year's C2k Champion's Bill Fenton and Bob Beede will also be campaigning a Civic si, and Klout Racing will field the #67 Civic.
Acura will have two Integra GS-Rs on the track. One for 1999 Touring Driver's Champions Will and Wayne Nonnamaker, and one for Dick Starita and John Wymore.
Mazda will have their usual suspects in the form of Team LOBO and Baglier Racing. Team LOBO will again campaign two cars in their quest for their first win of the year 2000.
Hyundai poses the most serious threat to Honda in the manufacturer's championship. Two Tiburons will be fielded by Hyundai Motorsport and will be driven by Mark Craig, Jocelyn Hébert, Didier Schraenen, and Gord Cullen.
