| Road America Sports Touring Weekend Preview |
|
|
The regular cast of characters will be joined by some new faces and new combinations at the upcoming race at Road America. As usual, the field will include the Team Lexus entries, Power Racing entries, Team Spartansburg entries, Competition Preperation entry, Villaconn entry, and the J. Pawley Motorsport entry.
But there have been some changes in the rest of the field. Moser Racing will now field two cars. The usual suspects of Joe Moser and Robert Moser will campaign one car, while the second car will be driven by Mike van Sicklen and Acura Integra expert Bob Endicott. With Endicott in the car, the car will surely be a strong contender to win, and the team will now have a chance to put two cars in the top three.
Thornley Racing, a new entrant to the series, will field two Acura Integra Type R's. The #57 entry will be driven by Keith Winchester and Michael Thornley. The #56 entry will draw a lot of attention however. The car is Peter Schwartzott's BBS Acura Integra Type R that he has campaigned in the World Challenge this season. Schwartzott will co-drive the Integra with Paul G. Gargiulo.
Not new to the series, but returning after a one race hiatus will be Alegra Motorsports. They will campaign three Porsches, and will prove to be a real threat on a track which features three long straight-a-ways.
